The WordCamp After Party – Drinks, Food and Community

So you’re all excited for WordCamp, right? Two full days of WordPress learning and fun – what’s not to be excited about?

To make it even better, we’re hosting what is sure to be a hugely entertaining after party for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves together. This year, the after party is going to be at the same venue as WordCamp itself in the awesome Slug & Lettuce restaurant & bar.

With plenty of indoor space that opens up onto the beautiful River Club driving range with outside seating, along with excellent food and a fully stocked bar, you’re sure to have a great time unwinding and getting to spend some quality time with the rest of the local community. You can even make it more significant and make a point of catching up with any of our esteemed speakers.

Because WordCamp is happening on a Thursday and Friday this year (don’t forget to convince your boss to give you both days off work!), the after party is on a Friday night so there’s no pesky office to get to the following day. Coupled with the fact that you don’t even need to drive anywhere after WordCamp to get to the party, there’s no reason not to be there and to stay as late as you like!

Golfing fun at WordCamp (even if you’ve never played before!)

With this year’s WordCamp Cape Town taking place at the River Club, it should come as no surprise that we’ll have some golfing fun planned. If you’ve never played golf before, or if you have, but you know you don’t have the skills, the don’t worry – actual talent doesn’t really matter in this case 🙂

Right next to the conference venue is the River Club driving range, which is not only beautiful to look at, but fun to take advantage of too – and at WordCamp you’ll be able to do just that. We will provide you with a healthy amount of golf balls and the River Club will have a few golf clubs on hand (but you can always bring your own if you like), so during the breaks you can go wild and hit as many balls you like. Use it as a chance to hang out with some new people while taking part in an activity that you may or may not have some skill in.

If you’re anything like me and you know that your golf skills are severely lacking, then it’s a great opportunity to meet others while having fun finding out who can miss the ball most often!

If you are actually somewhat skilled in the golfing arts then you can use this as an opportunity to see how well you stack up against the rest of the community – either way, it’s sure to be a blast.
